REGIONAL ISSUES

Metchosin is part of the CRD and what happens in the region can have a big impact on Metchosin. That is particularly true of the Westshore communities (Langford, Colwood and Sooke). Here are some of the issues we're following:

The massive scale of development in the Westshore.
Further development at Royal Bay.
Industrial development along Sooke Road.
Issues relating to CRD's management of parks in Metchosin's borders.

The APRM calls for:

Responsible development, including abundant green and recreational space for new developments.
Responsible disposal and management of excavation material.
Responsible use of existing parks.
Continued efforts to reduce our collective carbon footprint.
Protection of our existing farmland and wildland spaces.
